Digital Asset Management (DAM)
What Is Digital Asset Management (DAM)?
In the context of our Pantegral web portal system, file sharing is the functionality that allows users (or roles) to upload, distribute, access, view, modify, and manage files (documents, images, data files, etc.) within or across users and systems—subject to access control, versioning, and security policies.
File-sharing in the Pantegral systems supports:
- Access control & permissions (who can view, edit, delete, share further)
- Version control / revision history (tracking changes, revert to prior versions)
- Secure transport & storage (encryption in transit & at rest)
- Audit / logging (who accessed, when, what changes were made)
- Granular sharing (share with individuals, groups, or via links, with restrictions)
- Syncing & collaboration (multiple users working on same files, conflict resolution)
- Metadata & organization (folders, tags, naming conventions, search)
- Expiration / lifecycle / archival (files expire, auto-cleanup, retention policies)
- Integrations (with workflows, communication, external systems)
File sharing is not just “send me the file” but embedding that within a governance, security, and collaborative context in a centralized location.
